PADS4 Replication with Sub and/or Backup Servers

With the introduction of PADS4 version 2021.3 the synchronization has changed which might have impact on existing installations where PADS4 Sub and/or Backup Servers are used.

With PADS4 version 2021.3 we introduce a new replication mechanism between PADS4 Servers.
Older versions use a one way connection method where the Sub/Backup Server connects to the Main Server only.

With release 2021.3 the PADS4 main and sub/backup server can both start a connection for replication which requires a host port to be opened in the firewall

Replication between PADS4 Servers requires that all servers have their respective host port opened in the firewall from release 2021.3. Until now, the connection was always setup from the Backup or Sub Server to connect to the Main Server.

With 2021.3 both the Backup/Sub Server and Main Server can initiate the connection

New replication requirement from version 2021.3

This new mechanism requires that the Main Server is able to setup a connection with the Sub/Backup Server and the Sub/Backup Server is able to setup a connection with the Main Server.

Note

Connection between Main Server and Sub/Backup Servers require that both Servers are able to setup a network connection to the other Server which requires a fullduplex connection.
